The diesel department at the Illinois Railway Museum has undertaken the restoration of Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad #504, SD-24 built in 1959. When IRM acquired the 504 is was known as the BN 6244, its most recent number. This is a running unit in our collection and is simply (yeah, right) getting a cosmetic restoration.
